What our customers are saying…   A Tribute to Miss Marlyn – Celebrating 40 years “In 1973 Marlyn Abramson opened the doors of our home and started teaching dance to the neighborhood children. In 1973 most woman were not starting their own business- but my mom did!  From our home, Miss Marlyn moved to a local preschool and then to a studio on Courtland Street in Lansdale.  Throughout the last 40 yrs she has taught hundreds of children to dance. She has shared her love and passion for dance with the community and her family.  We now have 4 locations and over 25 dance companies.  I consider myself very lucky to have had Miss Marlyn as my first teacher, she has been my mentor, friend and of course my mom!  She is the best the business has to offer. I am so proud of you mom and Congratulations on the last 40 yrs.  Looking forward to many more!” Jennifer Abramson Green

Thank you very much for your generous donation of approximately 188lbs of various food items on 12/21/2015 to Manna on Main Street. You have helped us, as a community, come closer to achieving our vision: That everyone might be fed. From all of the families we serve, thank you very much!  With your support, we’re able to provide healthy, warm meals through our soup kitchen and food and household goods through our pantry. Manna is a welcome and safe place for neighbors struggling to meet basic needs. Thank you for helping us keep our doors open seven days a week to help the hungry among us! – Manna on Main Street Team

Such a great Nutcracker performance!!!.  Watching it all come together and the finesse in every dancers, including the mice, really says a lot for the instruction and dedication they received from each of you.  You, Marlyn, are such a special person to organize this for all the young dancers.  It was a privilege to host for you and a wonderful experience. Thank you for all you have done to make this happen. – Holly T

What can we say???  New Dance Workshop Lansdale is truly the best.  We have  enjoyed every minute of dance, thanks to you and your awesome teachers.  We  are so blessed to have not only found a wonderful school for our girls, but such  wonderful people.  We love everything about the school and your philosophy  of learning as well as the joy of dance. The girls love dancing and their instructors, but most of  all Miss Marlyn, Miss Trina and Miss Rochelle.  Miss Erin has also always been so kind to our girls especially as little ones.  You and your team are exceptional and we can’t thank you enough for all you have done for them.  We would never hesitate one second to recommend your school.  You have always treated our girls with kindness and we are forever grateful.  Throughout all the dance classes, your staff has taken the time to get to know our girls.   Thank you to Miss Marlyn for setting the tone of New Dance Workshop to be so welcoming to us. – Joan S

My two daughters have been dancing with New Dance Workshop Harleysville since they mastered how to walk.  While that seems to be an early age, both my girls always enjoyed taking classes with Miss Rochelle and building friendships with the girls and boys in their class.  Not only has Miss Rochelle taught them ballet, tap and jazz, but she has also taught them discipline, obedience, self worth and you can tell at each and every class how much she loves the kids and how much they love her right back.  The professional, yet friendly dance and teaching atmosphere that Miss Rochelle and the other instructors have created over the years is truly impressive, admired and highly recommended.  As I watch my eldest daughter start to mature and grow up, I continue to remain pleased with what New Dance Workshop offers.  She has now been exposed to Irish Step dance and another wonderful teacher, Miss Lauren.  She is challenged weekly at that class and has learned a great deal in a short amount of time.  She was fortunate to experience The “Nutcracker as a performer in a few small roles and is constantly challenged in the Petite Jazz Company which performs throughout the year.  It makes me smile and very proud to see how this very shy 3 year old has begun to blossom into a very confident, disciplined and hard working young dancer who looks forward to learning more and more each dance class.  The staff of New Dance Workshop make all of us feel like family and my girls could not be happier ballerinas because of it! – Kristen F

As a grandparent of five granddaughters I have been to many dance studios and dance recitals. The Marlyn Abramson’s New Dance Workshop tops them all. The young children at the age of 3 seem to know so many more dance steps than other studios children at that age. You see the progression each year. It is noticeable in all age groups. Marlyn and all of the teachers are very pleasant and gracious with all the children and their families. They treat everyone as family. I would not hesitate to recommend Marlyn Abramson’s New Dance Workshop to everyone. I am proud to say two of my granddaughters have been enjoying their dance classes for 6 years. – Grand NG M.M.

Our daughter has been attending New Dance Workshop Harleysville since before turning 3, Ms. Rochelle was able to  harness our little girl’s natural love of dancing and “twirling like a princess”, into actual dance moves, while keeping the whole process  fun and enjoyable!  These past couple of years , as our daughter has matured and her needs evolved, New Dance Workshop has grown along with her: we started taking Irish dance, with the very talented Miss Lauren, as well as learning new choreographed numbers and performed in our community, with the Petite Company, again spear-headed by Miss Rochelle.  I have been impressed by the teachers at NDW, in the way the share their love of dance and artistic expression, while making every student feel special! – The Johnson Family

Thank you both for everything you have done for us over the years.  I do believe that NDW is a large part of the reason why Maggie and Grace have such a passion for dance.  You nurtured the kids and made dance fun.  You loved them for who they were, you encouraged them, and always made them feel that they were perfect just the way they are.  Thank you for that!  So many dance schools don’t do that and you are special because you do.

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the recital this year.  It was truly your best!  I especially enjoyed seeing the student teachers on stage with their class during the ballet performances.  And Miss Trina, you out did yourself with the Batman number.

Thank you for all of the wonderful memories. – The Pekala Family

We are the parents of two daughters who have taken dance at Marlyn Abramson’s New Dance Workshop for the past five years, and we can attest to the staff’s compassion, dedication, and positive interactions with their students. We believe that the New Dance Workshop develops a lifelong appreciation for all of the dance forms and also fosters much self confidence in the students. Perhaps one of the most impressive aspects of Marlyn Abramson and her staff is that they treat a beginning dancer with the same love and respect as a future Martha Graham. We highly recommend Marlyn Abramson’s New Dance Workshop to any parent who is looking for an excellent dance curriculum in a warm, welcoming environment! – The Silvestrini Family

By far, the BEST dance studio around!!!  The director Jennifer Abramson Green, at the Spring House studio, takes each student under her wing like they are her own!  Wouldn’t want my daughter anywhere else!!! – Michelle Grasso Clark

My daughters LOVE dancing with the New Dance Workshop Jamison and all of their performances, concerts, recitals, Disney and Nutcracker.  Fantastic teachers, studios and friends. – Terri Yaegel McKendry

When I joined New Dance Workshop in 2008, I was just looking for something to do.  I didn’t know at the time that I had just set foot into what would become my second home, and I never dreamed that I would have the amazing opportunities that I’ve had here in the past 7 years.  I have gone to Disney World three times, danced the role of Clara in The Nutcracker with a Ukrainian ballet company, and danced the roles of Ursula, the Queen of Hearts, Snow White, a wicked stepsister, and Jiminy Cricket in New Dance Workshop ballets.  Frozen is one of my all-time favorite movies, and I’m so excited to be dancing the role of Elsa this year alongside some of my best friends.  I would like to thank my parents and grandparents for their eternal love and support, my friends for always coming out to watch me dance, my former pas de deux partner, Henry, for being a true champ and dancing with me, and, of course, my incredible dance teachers who are so much more than teachers to me.  This fall I will be attending Bucknell University to study chemical engineering and (hopefully) minoring in dance, but I intend to be back in the studio and at shows as frequently as possible.  You can take the girl out of the studio but you can’t take the studio out of the girl. – Caitlin Friel, High School Senior 2015

Dance has always been an extremely important part of my life.  Even before I started taking dance classes when I was 4, I was dancing; my parents and I danced every night before I went to bed.  I have now been taking dance classes for 12 years.  The last seven (and best seven) of which have been at New Dance Workshop Jamison.  NDW has offered me many amazing opportunities, from taking a master class with Anthony Burrell to dancing the Donetsk ballet, and has introduced me to some of the most influential people in my life.  I have come to think of NDW as my second family.  Next year I will be attending the University of Connecticut, but will be back in the studio often.  Dance will always be a part of my life, and so will New Dance Workshop. – Emily McCabe, High School Senior 2015
